Process your past, find your footing, and move forward with confidence.

EMDR/Trauma Therapy in Victoria & Online Across BC

EMDR and Somatic Therapy are designed to process trauma via neural networks. Whether it’s a car accident, sexualized assault, or multigenerational trauma, these modalities can help regulate your nervous system so you can establish an embodied sense of safety and well-being.

Signs you may benefit from trauma counselling or EMDR therapy

Trauma can leave lasting effects long after an event has passed. You might notice it in your thoughts, your body, or your relationships—feeling on edge, easily triggered, or disconnected from yourself. You may try to move forward but find yourself pulled back into patterns that don’t make sense.

You might benefit from trauma counselling or EMDR therapy if you’re experiencing:

  • Complex trauma or PTSD symptoms

  • Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares

  • Feeling detached or “numb” from your emotions

  • Difficulty relaxing or sleeping

  • Avoiding reminders of a painful experience

  • Struggles with trust, safety, or vulnerability in relationships

  • Persistent anxiety, guilt, or self-blame

  • Feeling stuck, powerless, or unable to move forward

Build New Neural Pathways

I use a combination of trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches to help you process experiences safely and fully. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is one of the tools I use to support clients in healing from trauma.

EMDR helps the nervous system reprocess painful experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming. Rather than having to relive the trauma, you’ll be guided through structured steps that allow your brain and body to integrate what happened and build new, adaptive beliefs about yourself.

This work draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches designed to help you feel grounded, whole, and empowered in your healing journey. You can explore some of the main approaches I use below.

What to

expect

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain process traumatic memories. It uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or holding buzzers) to support integration and healing without needing to re-live painful details.

  • EMDR can help with a wide range of experiences, including trauma, anxiety, panic, grief, and low self-worth. In our first sessions, we’ll discuss your history, goals, and readiness to make sure EMDR feels like a good fit for you.

  • Sessions are structured but gentle. We begin by building safety and grounding tools before processing any memories. You stay fully in control of the pace and can pause at any time.

  • That’s okay. We can focus first on building emotional regulation, stability, and trust before moving into EMDR work. Healing happens in layers, and your readiness guides the process.

  • Yes. For clients who want to work more deeply in a shorter period, EMDR intensives are available. These are customized multi-hour sessions designed to focus on specific experiences or themes.

What becomes possible through trauma therapy

Over time, you’ll begin to notice a deeper sense of calm, clarity, and self-compassion. Many people describe feeling lighter—as though they can finally exhale after holding their breath for years.

As you process old wounds, your body and mind start to reconnect, and you can respond to life’s challenges with greater strength and confidence.

Healing is not about erasing your past—it’s about reclaiming your present.
